Caledonian Cachexia Collaborative
A multidisciplinary group of scientists, physicians, surgeons and allied health professionals from five world class universities in Scotland with one shared vision: to transform the understanding and treatment of cachexia for people with cancer.
Research
Scotland has a proud history of innovation in cachexia research. Professor Kenneth Fearon was the first to describe the concept of multidimensional cachexia genesis and led the way in developing the most widely used cachexia definition and classification system. As a group including his peers and students, we are building on these strong foundations. Cachexia remains a challenge. However, no matter the challenge, our collaborative remains enthusiastic and dedicated to our mission of discovery and to transform cachexia for people with cancer.
